Nainital is a town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and headquarters of Nainital district in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of 1,938 metres (6,358 feet) above sea level, Nainital is set in a valley containing a pear-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountains, of which the highest are Naina (2,615 m (8,579 ft)) on the north, Deopatha (2,438 m (7,999 ft)) on the west, and Ayarpatha (2,278 m (7,474 ft)) on the south. From the tops of the higher peaks, "magnificent views can be obtained of the vast plain to the south, or of the mass of tangled ridges lying north, bounded by the great snowy range which forms the central axis of the Himalayas."

Day 01. Arrive Delhi. Delhi – Nainital by surface (336 Kms)

Meeting and assistance on arrival and drive to Nainital and check-in at the hotel.

Nainital is lake resort set at a height of 1938 metres in a beautiful world valley. Surrounded by seven hills, the sparkling waters of a natural lake make it a gem among hill resorts. Set around a tal or lake, this small town with cottage-like houses and steep mountains covered with green forests is one of the most sought-after summer destinations of India. This charming hill station of Uttaranchal (former Uttar Pradesh). Legend has it that the lake was formed when the Goddess Sati lost her eyes at this spot. She was being carried by Lord Shiva at time and a lake was formed as a result. 'Naina' (Eyes) 'Tal' (Lake) was thus given its name. Moving around Nainital can prove to be an equally interesting experience. One gets to see the region's finest flora and fauna besides getting a closer view of some of the highest peaks of the enchanting Himalayas.

Day 02. Nainital

After breakfast half day sightseeing visit to Naina Peak – Known as the China peak this peak is the highest point in Nainital. From here Nainital appears as a bowl. One can walk or take points to the peak. From this peak you can capture the exciting views of Nainital. Naina peak also gives a good view of the Camelback peak. There are no hotels or restaurant on the top so carry food and water along with you.

Hanuman Grahi – This place is of religious importance. Situated at the hight of 1951 meters this place was established by Baba Neem Kiroli. A very beautiful Hanuman mandir is at the top. From Hanuman Garhi watching the Sunset is very soothing. You can walk down from Nainital to Hanuman Garhi.

Naina Lake – This attribute lake is said to be one of the emerald green eyes of Shiva’s wife, Sati ( naina is Sanskrit for eye ). When Sati’s father failed to invite Shiva to a family sacrifice, she burnt herself to death in protest. Shiva gathered the charred remains in his arms and proceeded to engage in a cismic dance, which threatened to destroy the world. To terminate the dance, Vishnu chopped up the body into pieces, and the remains were scattered across India. The modern Naina Devi Temple at the northern end of the lake is built over the precise spot where the eye is believed to have fallen.Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03. Nainital– Corbett by surface (165 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Corbett and check-in at the hotel.

Located in the foothills of the Himalayas is the majestic Corbett National Park. Home to a variety of flora and fauna, it is famous for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants. Corbett national park was established in 1936, as the Hailey National Park. India's first national park and the first sanctuary to come under Project Tiger, Corbett supports a variety of vegetation making it the ideal habitat for the Tiger and its prey.

Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05. Corbett– Delhi by surface (300 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Delhi and check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06. Depart Delhi

In time transfer to Airport / Railway station to connect flight / train for onward destination.

End of the programme. Check-in & check-out time is 12 noon.
